Technology use could be concerned as just using power points to teach a class or using the computer to show videos and such. But technology integration is where the kids are actually using the technology. Such as a trip to the computer lab, or them making their own power point to present in class. Also, they could use anything that is considered "technical." CD players, Ipods, video camera's, etc.
Alicia, this is a great post. I didn't really look at technology this way. I mean i mentioned all the little gadgets and things but i considered them to me just technology and not using integration because I don't think the are being integrated to the curriculum as much. Also, technology is a great way for students to present their work in class, such as power points.
I have a small request. Could you please add your name to your title? I have to read tons of these, and going right to your name would help. Thanks.
Good job recognizing that technology isn't always teaher directed/used. My intern and I are going to try polleverywhere.com this week to assess students' views of Columbus. We think the kids will be hooked bec/ they're using their cell phones.
